This award is given annually by the Archbishop to an individual Catholic layperson, not a priest, deacon or staff, from each parish who has demonstrated participation in the Catholic Church’s mission to bring Christ’s light to all. Requirements for the Award The individual is a practicing Catholic who manifests an understanding of the teachings of the Church The individual has used his/her talents to deepen the life of the Church in the parish The individual has served in an extraordinary way the mission of the parish. If a couple is nominated as a team, they are also to reflect Christ’s light in their marriage and family. They are to be Catholic and validly married in the Church and an example of married life carrying out the Church’s mission also by the witness of their marriage Past award recipients: Mary Raley, Katie Mitchell, Paul Lowry, Ken Judice, Chuck Bouboulis, Cody Debner, Rich Schell, Glenn Gonzalez, and Cindy Childs. Parishioners are asked to submit nominees, with a brief description of service, to the front office by noon on Thursday, Nov. 30th.
