4th Wednesday Reflection
Therese: Ordinary Girl, Extraordinary Soul
The true story of Saint Therese of Lisieux
August 28, am in the Religious Formation Building
Saint Therese's feast day is October 1. We will ponder her life through prayer and meditation and viewing the movie about her life. Therese was a pampered child from a middle-class 19th century French family. Her mother died when she was four. Her early life experiences led her to journey to Rome to beg Pope Leo XIII for permission to enter the Carmelite monastery at the unheard-of age of 15. She experienced the joys and rigors of monastic life, and made the surprising yet simple discovery that holiness can be achieved by small acts of love and compassion - a spiritual path she calls her "Little Way." This film is a beautiful retreat into the world of Saint Therese of Lisieux.
