Causes Supported by Second Collections Catholic education
Supports Catholic universities and higher education. 
International missions
Supports Catholic missions in Central and Latin America, as well as the Holy Land. 
Humanitarian aid
Supports Catholic Relief Services, which helps people in need in the United States and overseas. 
Other causes
Supports Catholic Charities, the Campaign for Human Development, and the Retired Men and Women Religious.
Second collections are held at all Masses in parishes, chapels, missions, and stations. They provide an opportunity to participate in the work of the church beyond the local parish.
